India, a treasure chest of cultural wonders, holds an abundance of hidden gems waiting to be rediscovered. Among them are art forms that have thrived in the shadows of history—practiced, lived, and perfected by generations of artists, yet unfamiliar to most of us. Our team embarked on a journey to explore these dying art forms, and what we uncovered was nothing short of magical.

Devara Pitta, a street magic art form performed by the enigmatic Shiva Devotees, is one such spellbinding tradition. At its heart lies the mystical interplay of Indrajalam and Mahindra Jalam. The term Jaal, meaning “trap,” perfectly encapsulates the allure of this craft—an irresistible trap of illusions and mantras. It’s a world where magic unfolds, captivating audiences with the wonders of Shiva Maaya.

The performance is a sensory spectacle. Everyday items like turmeric, saffron powder, coconuts, leaves, and ropes transform under the power of mantras. The magic begins, and the ordinary becomes extraordinary. Abracadabra meets Om Namah Shivaya, blending ancient tradition with mystical allure.
