Balagokulam

Balagokulam believes that ‘every child has a spark of divinity within’. Along with enabling children to embrace their cultural roots, learn Hindu traditions and values, Balagokulam emphasizes on instilling pride and confidence about their culture and country in children.

Prabhala Theertham is the celebration of rich traditions and cultural heritage of Andhra Pradesh that dates back to the 17th century.

We, the Team Balagokulam, are very enthusiastic to support and participate in Prabhala Theertham, whose core values align with ours — to celebrate India’s rich culture.

In Balagokulam, we make children play traditional games, so it is our honor to conduct games for Prabhala Theertham and bring the joy of ancient rural games to Sarovarites.

In the ancestral villages of Konaseema, a timeless festival with a history spanning 400 years unfolds across several villages at Jagganna Thota. Here, the Prabhas, revered as replicas of the Ekadasa Rudras, the 11 forms of Lord Shiva, converge in a singular sacred space. The vibrant tapestry of the ornate Prabhas, set against the backdrop of coconut fields, infuses an ethereal and mystic ambiance, echoing with the laughter and exuberance of one and all.

In the urban landscape, Aparna Sarovar seamlessly carries forward the legacy of Jaganna Thota Prabhala Theertham, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries. The village atmosphere comes alive with the serving of traditional delicacies, spirited games, and the availability of accessories reminiscent of multifaceted Indian rural celebrations. Enthusiastically embraced by the young generation, the festivities attract residents, allowing them to relive the customs of their roots. An enriching experience only gets better as we see diverse ancient indian elements from various states as a single magnanimous fabric.

A couple of years ago, I was introduced to Prabhala Theertham by Ms. Chandana Pochiraju, a dynamic member of the Women Envision Council for Entrepreneurship. Her passion for carrying legacy of Prabhala Theeratham in urban world and her integral role in the organizing team filled more enthusiasm in our community. Ms. Chandana extends warm invitations to talented artisans from the Women Envision Council, encouraging them to showcase their crafts at stalls during the festivities. This unique opportunity allows our women from various corners of the country to actively participate, not only in connecting with customers but also in immersing themselves in the vibrant spirit of the village festival. It’s heartening to witness the cross-cultural exchange and celebration fostered by the Organizing team of Aparna Sarovar and the Women Envision Council, creating a rich tapestry of shared experiences and connections.
