Village Craft Workshop by Suraka school

Reconnecting with Forgotten Village Arts
In the evening hours of Prabhala Teertham at Aparna Sarovar, Suraka School presents a meaningful Village Craft Workshop—an experience that gently reconnects children with the forgotten crafts of rural India. Designed for ages 4 to 13 years, this workshop shifts focus from modern play to hands-on creativity rooted in tradition.
Learning Through Hands-On Experience
This is not a classroom lesson, but a living experience. Children learn village crafts by doing—touching materials, understanding processes, and creating something with their own hands. As they engage in these age-old crafts, they gain a deeper appreciation for the patience, effort, and skill of rural artisans whose work often goes unnoticed.
Bridging Generations Through Craft
The workshop acts as a bridge between generations—allowing today’s children to experience how earlier generations created toys, utilities, and decorative items with simple natural materials. It helps children understand that creativity does not always require machines or screens, but imagination, effort, and heart.
A Thoughtful Addition to Prabhala Teertham
Prabhala Teertham celebrates heritage not just through rituals, but through lived experiences. The Village Craft Workshop aligns seamlessly with this spirit, encouraging children to value traditional knowledge while fostering respect for India’s rural craftsmanship and cultural roots.
